Plumbing - Heating - Bleeding a radiator
Required Tools: replacing
- If your radiator is not heating properly, for instance the top is cold while lower down it is heated, there may be an airlock.
- Use a bleeding key to open the valve at the top side of the radiator. Air should hiss out and if the heating is on, water should rise through the radiator. Have a cloth ready to mop up any dripping as the water reaches the valve.
- When water reaches the valve, tighten it and the radiator should function properly.
- If the problem is not fixed and the problem is intermittent throughout the house, there may be a more serious problem with your heating system and you should seek professional help.
