Storage - Bathroom
A clutter-free bathroom can be difficult to achieve if you lack appropriate storage. This is particularly the case where you are sharing the space with others and there becomes an accumulation of toiletries; many of which need to be within easy reach every day.
Finding storage solutions which really work can require a little thought. However small or irregularly-shaped your room is, there are a myriad of options available. Below are just a few ideas which should help you along your way.- Under-basin tidy. This cost-effective, space-saving solution helps contain your lotions and potions, grouping toiletries together, on the wire shelves. It effectively wraps round the pedestal sink, keeping everything within easy reach. Small bathrooms may benefit most from this idea.
- Glass shelves. These are often a popular choice, enabling you to display your more sophisticated toiletries, adding a ‘designer’ feel on a budget. If you’ve previously piled your products on window ledges, this can bring a much more open-feeling to your bathroom.
- Triangular storage rack/trolleys. Working with the angles in your bathroom, you can maximize the available space with the addition of these solutions. For those with more clutter, cabinets will hold and conceal more. Many of these come with drawers and create a more integrated look. It is worth remembering, however that wall-mounted storage maximizes floor space, which may be at a premium in your bathroom.
- Two-in-one towel-rail and shelf. This clever option usually has a very solid and functional appearance and for minimalists, it may constitute the only storage necessary.
- Bathroom cabinet. This old favourite has gone through many incarnations over the years but remains one of the tried and tested solutions which people return to again and again. The mirrored variety solves two problems in one, providing the storage behind the mirror, housing toiletries or medicines. Slim-line versions are available for smaller bathrooms.
