Outdoor - Gutter Maintenance
Required Tools: Ladder, Rubber Gloves, Hand Trowel, Hose
- Check and clean gutters at least once a year.
- Use a ladder to get up to the gutter. Place a piece of wood or rag at the bottom of the down pipe to stop debris from the gutter getting into the drains.
- Remove any debris from the gutter using your hands while wearing protective gloves or with a trowel. Be careful not to let anything spill into the down pipe, down the wall or onto yourself.
- Remove the rag or wood. Use a hose to rinse water down the gutter. Check for faults like pooling water or dripping joints; these will need to be repaired.
