Decorating - Hanging a Picture Frame
Required Tools: Claw Hammer, Laser Level, Pencil, String, Tape Measure, Spirit Level
- Pencil mark the wall where you desire the top corners of your picture to be positioned. Measure how far down the back of the picture your hooks need to be to hang at this desired height.
- Lay the picture on the floor and attach the eyelets and hanging cord. Pull on the cord until tense as it would be when hung on the wall. Measure the distance between the peak of the chord and the top of the picture or frame.
- Measure the distance between your two corner points on the wall and mark the centre point. From this point measure the distance you measured on the picture in the last step. Mark this point on the wall. Hammer the picture hook into the wall and hang the picture.
- Make sure the picture is level with a spirit level.
- If you want to hang another picture of the same size on the same wall tie a bit of string to the first hook. Stretch out the string to the desired position of the next picture. Have a friend hold a spirit level in line with the string. Move the string up and down the wall until level and mark the new point on the wall. Hammer in the hook and hang the second picture.
