Outdoor - Extra support for fencing
Required Tools: Nails, Handsaw
- A support stay can be used to provide extra support for fence posts under extra strain. It can be placed either in line with the fence or at right angles to it.
- Use a treated length of wood about 3/4 the length of the post. Cut the top so it has a 35-40˚ angle to the vertical post.
- Dig the post into the ground at a diagonal so that the posts angled top rests flat against the side of your post. A brick or stone should be placed at the bottom of the stays hole for support.
- Fill the hole as for the posts and nail the stay to the post using suitable galvanised nails.
