Decorating - Tiling over old tiles
Required Tools: Tiling Kit, Grout, Adhesive Trowel, Tile Adhesive

As long as your existing tiles are in relatively good condition and firmly stuck to the wall, you can place new tiles directly on top of them. There is no need to score the old tiles or use special adhesive.
- Replace any cracked or damaged tiles (see Decorating - Replacing a Cracked or Damaged Tile)
- Attach tiles to the wall directly on top of the old tiles using standard adhesive (See Decorating - Tiling). Use the old tiles as a guide if you are happy they are level. Attach the new tiles so their joins will not align with those of the old tiles.
- Continue until complete. On half tiled walls you may need to extend any wooden borders, if present, to become flush with the new tiles.
